Your Forex Education on Trading Account Basics

By Bart Icles

By now you must already have an idea of how quickly things happen in the forex market. If you have been serious about your forex education, you must also have already known by now that there are still a lot of things that you need to learn. If you have heard about day trading, margin trading, and all the other different types of currency trading, you might have also heard about the different kinds of forex accounts that you can choose to open.

Trading in the foreign exchange market will require you to setup an account. Once you have opened a forex account, you can almost already start competing with banks and large hedge funds in reaping gains from this lucrative yet volatile market. There are three basic types of accounts that you will need to learn about: standard, mini, and managed. Selecting the type of account that you will be setting up totally relies on the size of your initial investment, your tolerance for risks, and the amount of time you can give to currency trading on a daily basis.

Most forex traders have standard trading accounts. This type of account gives you access to standard currency lots that are generally valued at $100,000. Do not let the money figure fool you. A standard currency lot of $100,000 does not mean that you will need to invest $100,000 in capital so you can participate in trading. Recalling what you have learned from your forex education, you will realize that the rules of margin and leverage dictate that you will only need a thousand dollars in a margin account so you can trade for one standard lot.

A mini trading account allows forex traders to make transactions using mini lots. A mini lot is typically equivalent to one-tenth of a standard lot. For example, if a standard lot is valued at $100,000, then mini lots would be at $10,000 each. A lot of standard accounts brokers also offer mini accounts. This allows them to bring in more clients who have significant hesitations in trading in full lots due to the amount of investment that standard accounts require.

Then there are managed accounts. In this type of forex account, you will have control of how much you will put in on your capital but will not be able to make decisions on whether you will be buying or selling. You will leave these decisions to your account managers who will work to meet the profit goals, risk management, and other objectives that you have set. There are two types of managed accounts: pooled funds and individual accounts. In pooled funds, your investment will be put into a mutual fund, along with those of the other investors, and all of you will have your own share of the profit. In individual accounts, an account manager handles each and every account distinctively. Therefore, he will make decisions for each investor instead of making a decision for a group of people. - 23305

Mini Forex Trading - How Starting Small Can Mean Earning Big

By Bart Icles

Forex currency trading is a large and complex investment market that takes time and effort to understand, apart from other existing trading markets. So why is it so popular, and with so many people wanting to get in? The answer: simply because if and when a trader makes successful transaction, it offers the chance of making a substantial amount of money at the shortest time possible, and with just minimal costs.

Mini Forex trading allows a profitable way of trading by starting with a small capital fund in exchange for handling larger currency sums. The way mini Forex trading is designed with its margin of 100:1, the trader only puts up $1,000 to control the position of a currency sum of $100,000. In futures trading the ratio is 20:1, and 4:1 for equities.

Every trading has its risks " mini-Forex included. Even with its high profitability rate, chances of success are slim if a trader doesnt take time to learn the ropes of the business. Its important that you - the trader, have a clear understanding how a margin account works, especially with your account. So, if in any way there are some points or issues that are unclear to you, you should refer to the account specialist handling your account right away.

A trader can lose all the money in his account if he runs out of margin (the remaining balance not tied to a position), which may happen even before a margin call is made. Others have a stop-loss order to close out positions when this happens. But it's always best to keep a regular tab on your account just to be sure to avoid risking losing one's investment.

Compared to futures and equities trade markets, Forex currency trading has the advantage of not having any commissions, exchange, and brokerage fees. Without such payments to contend with, traders have larger spreads, thus are able to have increased profits with each successful trade deal. And since it has no central controlling point, trading happens in a 24 hour basis with a continuous stream of buyers and sellers from all corners of the world.

Mini Forex trading is the better alternative compared to futures and commodities trading. With its risks involved, understanding the market and having a trading system that suits your trading psyche would be most helpful to having a successful and profitable career in the highly vibrant and volatile world of Forex trading - mini or not. - 23305

Do I Need To Invest In A Forex Trading Course?

By Gary Malone

A very lucrative and popular way of maximizing your income earnings would be trading foreign currency. If you are new to Forex or would like to learn more about how it works and how you can profit from it, you would benefit from taking a Forex trading course.

It is strongly recommended that those who are new to Forex take their time in learning about each of the markets and their different schedules and characteristics. This is because it isn't easy living in one time zone and adapting to the market of another (such as the 8 hour difference between the American and European markets). Unfamiliarity can lead to costly mistakes. If you take a Forex trading course, you will be taught how to make slow and cautious moves in unfamiliar territories, which automatically increases the likeliness that you will succeed.

When it comes down to choosing a Forex trading course, you have many, many options from which to make your selection. You'll see that each course will offer different "exclusive" information and will charge different prices for that information, which can be intimidating when trying to figure out which one is best for you.

In order to locate the best Forex trading course for your needs, you should search Google for reviews on popular Forex trading courses. This will display a listing of numerous courses with reviews made by existing customers. This method is one of the easiest and safest ways of finding out which courses will put your through hoops for nothing and which ones offer genuine training for novice Forex traders.

Narrow down the list by eliminating all the courses that don't interest you or seem legitimate, which can prevent you from spending money on a course that wouldn't have taught you much, if anything at all. With less to choose from, you'll have an easier time finding the right course for you.

On top of walking you through how to trade Forex, a thorough trading course will give you a detailed background of the Forex industry and its markets. You can also gain valuable insight on how to make opportunities out of disadvantages as well as learn in depth about different currencies you can trade. Some courses are even directly geared towards the trading of certain currencies.

It can take some time to get through an entire Forex trading course successfully; however, the proficiency you will gain as a trader will be well worth the time and effort invested. - 23305

How to Trade Forex? It's a Piece of Cake!

By Steve Maenshel

How to trade Forex? Trading Forex is a piece of cake. It is really not as hard as it seems to be. Forex trades involve entering the trade at the right time, as well as exiting also at the right time. All you have to do is select a currency pair, select the desired amount of the base currency that you wish to trade and choose whether you would like to sell or to buy. Next you will have to wait for a profitable time to exit your transaction, and there you are. In order to learn how to trade Forex and to start consistently choosing the winning transactions, you will have to practice on a demo account for several months.

Demo Account

Trading with a demo account is definitely one of the easiest ways to learn how to trade Forex. A Demo account will safeguard you from incurring any real losses while making mistakes at the time of your trading. At first, you will most likely often make mistakes when selecting the time of entering and exiting the trades, such as you may be too late or too early. Mistakes that you make while trading on a demo account will not cost you a dime. However, if you skip this essential step, you may join the 90% of failing Forex traders.

Currency Pairs

How to trade Forex with the best currency pair? Which currency pair to go with? It is better to first go with the most traded currency pair - USD/EUR: Trade with this currency pair, until you know it like the back of your hand. Do not start trading with other currency pairs until this one becomes your "friend". All currency pairs are different; they are all tied to different countries and different reasons behind fluctuations, such as news, political situation and so on. Try to get a feel for one currency pair at a time, starting with the most traded one (USD/EUR).

Currency Quotes

Forex trades are always based on currency quotes. Currency quotes are two-sided, consisting of the bid price from one side and the ask price from the other side. Bid represents the selling price of the base currency, when concurrently buying the counter one. Ask represents the purchasing price of the base currency, when concurrently selling the counter one. Good grasp of currency quotes is essential for learning how to trade Forex.

First currency in the quote is the base currency, and second currency is the counter currency (also called quote currency or terms currency). In the example of the USD/EUR currency pair, USD is the base currency and EUR is the counter currency. The value of the base currency is always 1. The value of the counter currency is calculated against the base currency, i.e., 1 USD = 0.7422 EUR. Prices in the terms of quotes are expressed through pips, which are usually the 4th decimal point. Once you understand the currency pairs, you will be well on your way in the process of learning how to trade Forex.

Understanding Leverage and Margins

Leverage allows you to trade with not much of your own money. It's very pleasant to realize that you can trade with a lot more money than what you really have. Imagine the possible profits? It's breath-taking, isn't it? Well, now turn your imagination on and try to imagine the possible losses. It's spine-chilling, isn't it? Many dealers advertise margins with up to 100:1 leverage. What does it mean? It means that if you are trading with many lots and the market goes against you in most of the lots, your losses will be horrific. Do not just learn how to trade Forex, do so without incurring losses.

Dealers often act like banks - even if you lose, all they want to do is to give you more money, so you can return more to them. If you lose more, they will give you even more. Until they stop giving you anything, and now you are the one who has to give everything back to them. The result will be a disaster. As well as more money to trade with will not help you learn faster how to trade Forex. Do not fall for the leverage bait. Trade with your own money and do not go in debt.

To learn how to trade Forex, understand currency pairs, currency quotes, and trade on a demo account for a few months. How to trade Forex without large losses? Do not trade on margin and only use the money that you can afford to - 23305
